Havelock North Primary School - New LIbrary
completed 2006
The client’s
brief was to replace the existing Library contained within an old existing administration building with a new state of the art library, computer AV suite. The school was short of land and so use of a sloping unusable corner of the site was choosen as this made the least impact on the available playing grounds. The Library is spread across three levels with much use made of the steps between by children and cushions. Natural light is plentiful with much use made of volumes and space to define areas.
